Coming of Age Retreat for Mothers and Daughters (1 day, 4 two-hour workshop series or weekend retreat)

Prepare a young girl for her first menstruation and learn how to create a meaningful celebration of her menarche rite of passage.

Appropriate for mothers, grandmothers, aunts, female mentors and the girls they cherish, this workshop explores the biology, psychology, spirituality, ecology and anthropology of the female fertility cycle. Through film, journaling, craft projects, heart-centered discussion, creative activities, ceremony and celebration, a young girl will be inspired to cherish and care for her body, listen to her inner guidance, and discover her true self. This program is a prelude to a menarche coming of age celebration.

Goddess Gathering Weekend for Teens

This immersion weekend is designed to empower adolescent young women. In order to accomplish this objective, our strategy is to work from the inside out – helping participants understand and live according to the Deep Feminine, culminating in a Rite of Passage initiation in which they embrace their core feminine self.

All learning will take place in a circle where we will draw upon wise woman teachings imparted through a lively mix of interactive exercises, lecture, discussion, film, art, drumming, song, movement, yoga, dance, breathwork, meditation, journaling, and ceremony. Among the themes explored are: women's history, goddess archetypes, feminine imagery in art and nature, moon cycle self-care, red tent retreats and multicultural rites of passage into womanhood.

In the safety of a women's circle, we will study feminist and patriarchal perspectives on women's bodies, cycles, sexuality and power as shared through an ancient lineage of wisdom teachings passed down from woman to woman. These revealed teachings embrace the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, erotic, ecological and cultural dimensions of menstruation. Workshop includes lecture, discussion, journaling, meditation, art, film, movement, song, drumming and ceremony.
